Boys go Birding

The Birding adventures of two brothers: Atish and Sikandar Khosla

Hi, we are two brothers, Atish Khosla (11)and Sikandar Khosla (8). We live in New Delhi, India. We started this blog to share about all the birding we have done. Another reason is to get more kids interested in birdwatching. We also want to share all the pictures we have taken through a phone and binoculars/scope and camera.  We got our parents interested in birdwatching, and they help us with photographs and uploading on this blog.

About Atish

Hi, I am Atish Khosla and I started birding in 2021 when I was 8. I was earlier introduced to birds by my grandfather in Himachal. Every morning when I was 7 he use to show me birds on the terrace and slowly I started to get interested. My first birding trip was to Keoladeo National Park, Rajasthan, India where I wanted to see the Peregrine Falcon, but did not find it. Luckily our guide told us about this place in Gujarat called the Little Rann of Kutch, after two weeks we were on a plane to Gujarat. On our 2nd day and 2nd safari, we saw the peregrine falcon and we were not sure about another bird if it was a Merlin or a Lesser Kestrel. The Little Rann of Kutch was one of my favourite bird sanctuaries I’ve been to.

About Sikandar

Hello, my name is Sikandar.  I am 8 years old and started birding in 2021, when I was 4.   My brother and I used to see birds with our grandfather in Dharamshala. Since then, we have been on many trips with our parents to India and other countries. My favourite birding trip so far has been the Masai Mara in Kenya.  I really liked the secretary bird and the sooty falcon. I like spotting and photographing with binoculars and a phone and a scope.
